Title:                       Team Member

FLSA Status:         Non-Exempt

 

Alpine Climbing Adventure Fitness is the Central Valley’s largest, most dynamic indoor rock-climbing gym and fitness center. Located just two hours west of Yosemite Valley, our facility fosters an active lifestyle while providing a creative work and social environment. We are looking for value’s driven, energetic team members who have an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for climbing, the outdoors, wellness and community to join our team. Team Members are our front line and are the first impression when our members and guests enter Alpine. You’ll be responsible for providing a world class customer experience, helping drive our inclusive community and setting the tone with our culture daily. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Greeting all guests with enthusiasm and a smile. Build relationships with all guests, focusing on community development and individual growth.
  • Use effective communication techniques for delivering policies and informing different benefits.
  • Ensure all members/guests have the appropriate documentation on file (waivers, facility orientation, belay certified, lead certified as applicable, etc…)
  • Teach top rope and auto-belay techniques and classes to members and guests.
  • Manage risk in attempt to minimize all inherent dangers of rock climbing as much as possible. Be ready and able to step into many situations in order to eliminate opportunity for accident or injury.
  • Provide facility tours.
  • Answer any/all questions about membership, climbing, fitness classes, youth programs, or any other things about Alpine.
  • Follow cleaning and sanitization protocols.
  • Follow COVID-19 check in protocols.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership whether ON or OFF the clock; while behind the desk, on the floor, crushing routes/boulders or leading groups and bday parties.
  • Promote Alpine within the community.
  • Contribute in staff meetings to identify opportunities for improvement in regards to operational execution and policy implementation.
  • Facility maintenance items including but not limited to: Scrub toilets, other sanitization, wash holds, help noobs, be psyched every day and spread positive vibes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality, comfortable working with large groups and enjoy interacting with kids!
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Full understanding of Alpines values and why we exist.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to make decisions effectively in high-pressure situations and fast paced environments.
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving workload, aptitude for identifying priorities in a regularly changing environment and readiness to respond to unexpected tasks.
  • Computer literacy. Ability to learn POS System Rock Gym Pro.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights and weekends.

Environmental & Physical Requirements:  

  • Obligation of four weekend shifts per month.
  • Comfortable working at height and moving up and down a climbing wall or ladder.
  • Constantly standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull, and carry 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to climb, squat, crawl, balance, and kneel.

Title:                       Youth Coach

FLSA Status:          Non Exempt

Alpine Climbing Adventure Fitness is the Central Valley’s largest, most dynamic indoor rock-climbing gym and fitness center. Located just two hours west of Yosemite Valley, our facility fosters an active lifestyle while providing a creative work and social environment. We are looking for value’s driven, energetic team members who have an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for climbing, the outdoors, wellness and community to join our team as a Youth Coach. Youth Coaches are an essential part of our community and must have a passion for climbing, coaching and kids. You’ll be responsible for helping youth in their progression of climbing. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Having a positive and encouraging attitude at all times.
  • Providing instruction and feedback to youth on their climbing.
  • Creating and leading team practices.
  • Speaking with parents about their children climbing progression.
  • Occasionally sweep, mop, scrub toilets, or other various tasks as needed (like every other team member at Alpine).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of climbing experience.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Ability to climb V7 and 5.12 in our gym.
  • Passion for climbing, teaching and kids.
  • Positive attitude at all times.

Title:                       Route Setter

FLSA Status:         Non Exempt

 

Alpine Climbing Adventure Fitness is the Central Valley’s largest, most dynamic indoor rock-climbing gym and fitness center. Located just two hours west of Yosemite Valley, our facility fosters an active lifestyle while providing a creative work and social environment. We are looking for value’s driven, energetic team members who have an extremely creative mindset and a passion for climbing, the outdoors, wellness and community to join our team. Route Setters inspire movement, and teach technique through their craft.  They challenge and inspire all climbers regardless of if it’s their first time or if they are a seasoned veteran to continue their pursuit of achieving great heights. The Setting Team is what makes any gym special and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Creating and maintaining high-quality routes and boulders as a product for our members and daily guests.
  • Encourage climbers to think and learn about movement, strength, and technique through each route or boulder, regardless of difficulty.
  • Forerun consistently and effectively at a minimum of V5 and 5.12
  • Assist with facility maintenance.
  • Clean and organize climbing holds and setting room.
  • Be personable, interact with and help foster the community.

  • Proficient setting while abiding by Work At Height protocols and using Rope Access techniques.
  • Comfortable working at height while moving up and down a climbing wall or ladder.
  • Constantly standing and walking, or sitting and hanging in a harness for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull, and carry 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to climb, squat, crawl, balance, and kneel.

Title:                       Yoga/Fitness & HIIT Instructors

FLSA Status:          Non Exempt

 

Alpine Climbing Adventure Fitness is the Central Valley’s largest, most dynamic indoor rock-climbing gym and fitness center. Located just two hours west of Yosemite Valley, our facility fosters an active lifestyle while providing a creative work and social environment. We are looking for value’s driven, energetic team members who have an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for climbing, fitness, the outdoors, wellness and community to join our team. Our Yoga and Fitness Instructors will provide an extremely beneficial and complementary aspect to our climbing opportunities. By providing top tier instruction, we will encourage and empower our community to live an active and healthy lifestyle while focusing on mindful movement. Either on the wall, the flat bench or on the floor we will provide an extremely comprehensive training facility and environment for many athletic endeavors. You’ll be responsible for providing a world class customer experience, helping drive our inclusive community and setting the tone with our culture daily. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Greeting all guests with enthusiasm and a smile. Build relationships with all guests, focusing on community development and individual growth.
  • Lead group classes.
  • Develop curriculum and guide groups through various levels and types of yoga, strength training, or group HIIT.
  • Demonstrate practice and proper technique.
  • Motivate students with words of encouragement.
  • Ensure the safety of clients during training sessions.
  • Answer any/all questions about membership, climbing, fitness classes, youth programs, or any other things about Alpine.
  • Follow cleaning and sanitization protocols.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership whether ON or OFF the clock; while behind the desk, on the floor, crushing routes/boulders or leading groups.
  • Promote Alpine within the community and build local partnerships with other local businesses and organizations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Yoga Certification with Yoga Alliance. RYT – 200
  • Certified Personal Trainer
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality, comfortable working with large groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Full understanding of Alpines values and mission.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights and weekends.
  • Must obtain Certificate of General Liability Insurance with Alpine named

Frequently asked questions

We have a super awesome tight culture and team. Everyone has each others backs and from the owners to every team member, we all pitch in and get the work done. But it’s still work. You do not get paid to rock climb. 

You’re welcome to apply and we review every application. But we highly encourage you to at least come by for a day to climb with us, get familiar with our space and community and what we stand for.
