Tell us about your family
Meet Sam and Sarah! Sarah is a nurse practitioner and Sam is a mechanical engineer. They originally moved to California in 2019.
tell us about your climbing background
Sam started climbing in his home state of Texas when he was 19 years old. He’s had the opportunity to travel a lot for climbing all over North America and various places internationally. Sarah met Sam in 2016 and that was her first exposure to climbing. She was not an outdoorsy girl.
why did you join alpine?
We joined Alpine for our love for climbing, but what has continued our membership is the inclusive community that Alpine has created.
Alpine has given Sam a place where he can train hard and progress more as a climber. He has successfully taken down two 5.13’s this year!
what advice would you give to a new climber?
Just get in and get started! The more you get in and hang on stuff, the more you’ll notice changes over time.
Don’t go too hard, and let your body rest!
