Meet Josh! Josh is a software engineer and is from Tracy. He makes the drive all the way to Alpine! Josh loves any activity outdoors! He has 5 kids and 5 grandkids. His kids climb too!
When did you start climbing?
Josh started climbing the Diablo Rock Gym in Concord, but that was such a long drive for him that he started climbing outdoors just as much as indoor climbing.
Why do you love alpine?
Like so many other members, Josh loves the community at Alpine. Shoutout to one of Alpines family, Joe, who is currently serving overseas. His friends are always patient with him because he likes to teach and help others. He has made many friends and gone climbing indoors, outdoors, and all over the US. Josh loves Alpines moto and followed through on it. He came as he was and left stronger then he came!
What would be your advice to new climbers?
Don’t get upset when you can’t complete climbs or find climbs hard. When you fall don’t get frustrated, but get up and keep trying. It’s about improving yourself. You will get stronger if you are willing to try hard things.
